Aerospace  Landing gear, wheels and brakes

 As modular avionic hardware and communication protocols become a reality, opportunities increase for fibre optic communications on airframes and instrumentation systems. Optical landing gear monitoring systems are currently being developed by Oxsensis to satisfy the requirement for this technology in the supply chain.

Oleo strut sensors


Oxsensis optical sensor instrumentation provides oleo strut pressure and temperature. The EMI immune system complements other wing and airframe optical instrumentation developments and Oxsensis is partnered with Airbus in a collaborative development of these systems (see panel).

Wheels and brakes sensors


Oxsensis optical instrumentation provides brake temperature, wheel speed and position. The EMI immune system complements other wing and airframe optical instrumentation developments and Oxsensis is partnered with Parker Aerospace in a collaborative development of these systems.

Project OASES

Aircraft brakes can reach in excess of 1000°C during emergency braking. Oxsensis is working with Meggitt Sensing Systems to produce a photonic sensor solution.
